Atypical Trainer is a Slough-based personal training studio run by Łukasz — a coach who went from an overweight, self-conscious kid to 13 years of helping ordinary people get lean, strong and confident. No gimmicks, no crash diets, no 30-day miracles. Just a proper plan and someone who actually holds you to it.
Most personal training in Slough follows the same script: a generic plan, a bit of shouting, a protein shake upsell and a contract you regret by month two. Atypical Trainer was built as the opposite of that. Łukasz coaches the way he wishes someone had coached him when he was the overweight kid at the back of PE — patiently, honestly and with a plan that survives contact with real life.
The studio sits on Whitby Road in central Slough, a few minutes from the station and the Trading Estate, and sessions run from 6am until 9pm so they fit around Elizabeth line commutes, shift rotas and the school run. If getting to Whitby Road doesn't work, Łukasz travels to you — home garages and living rooms across SL1, SL2 and SL3, plus outdoor sessions at Herschel Park, Salt Hill Park and Upton Court Park.
The method is simple: strength training done properly, nutrition you can actually live with, and weekly check-ins that keep you honest. That combination has produced an average of 14kg lost in twelve weeks for clients who follow the plan, and a 92% retention rate for a reason — people stay because it works.
Sixty focused minutes with Łukasz and nobody else. A programme written for your body, corrected rep by rep, and progressed every single week. The quickest route to visible change.
The programme most people come to us for. Three sessions a week, a calorie and protein target you can stick to, and a check-in every Monday. Clients who follow it lose 14kg on average.
Bring a partner, a mate or two colleagues from the Trading Estate. Two to four people, one coach, and a price that splits nicely. Same standards, more banter.
Already comfortable in a gym? Get the programme, the nutrition targets and the weekly accountability delivered to your phone, wherever you train.
For people who already train but can't get the food side to click. Personal calorie and protein numbers, one new habit a fortnight, and someone checking the log every week.
Atypical Trainer's base is at 117–119 Whitby Road, Slough SL1 3DR — walking distance from Slough station and a short drive from the Trading Estate, Chalvey and Cippenham. It's a proper strength set-up rather than a commercial gym: racks, bars, dumbbells, cables and no queue for the equipment.
Prefer fresh air? We run outdoor blocks at Herschel Park, Salt Hill Park and Upton Court Park from spring to autumn. Prefer not to leave the house? Łukasz brings a full mobile kit — dumbbells, bands, mat and the programme — to homes across SL1, SL2 and SL3, and out to Langley, Burnham, Windsor and Datchet.
Early birds get 6am and 7am slots before the Elizabeth line; Trading Estate workers get lunchtime sessions; parents get school-hours availability. Evening slots run until 9pm and Saturdays are open. Street parking is available on Whitby Road and the surrounding streets.
There's no "type" of client here. Slough is one of the most mixed towns in the country and the people walking through the door reflect that — different ages, jobs, bodies and starting points. What they share is that they're done guessing.
Train at 6am on Whitby Road, shower, and still make the 7:20 into Paddington. Or come in after work when you're back — we're open until 9pm.
Drop-off to pick-up is prime time. Mid-morning studio slots, or Łukasz comes to the house so nobody needs a babysitter.
Rotating rotas don't suit fixed classes. We rebook week to week around your pattern — nights, earlies, whatever the roster says.
Strength is the best insurance policy you can buy for your later years. Joint-friendly programming that builds muscle, bone density and balance.
Never lifted a weight? Perfect — no bad habits to undo. Beginners make the fastest progress of anyone, and the studio has no crowd to feel watched by.
Had a gym membership, used it twice, felt guilty for eight months. Been there. This time you'll have a plan and a coach expecting you.
Every price is on the website. No "enquire for a quote", no joining fee, no contract. Your first session costs nothing.
All prices include programme design. First session always free — no obligation. See full pricing →

Nervous? This is exactly what happens on Whitby Road, door to door.
Sometimes no. Here's how to tell which camp you're in.
Search "personal trainer Slough" and you'll find a lot of people promising a lot of things. Six-packs in six weeks. Bootcamps that "smash" you. Transformation photos that look suspiciously like a lighting change. Atypical Trainer exists because Łukasz got tired of watching people in this town pay for that and end up back where they started.
This is what personal training should look like when it's done properly — and what you should expect from anyone you pay to coach you in Slough, whether that's us or someone else.
The first thing Łukasz does with a new client isn't a workout — it's a conversation. What have you tried? What went wrong? What does a normal Tuesday look like? Which joints complain? How many days can you honestly commit to? The programme is built from those answers. Two people starting the same week will have two different plans, because they're two different people. If a trainer hands you a laminated sheet before they've asked you anything, walk away.
Most people arrive wanting to lose fat and assume that means hours on a treadmill. It doesn't. Fat loss is decided in the kitchen; the training decides what your body looks like when the fat comes off. Lifting weights keeps your muscle while you're in a deficit, so you end up looking lean rather than just smaller, and it raises the number of calories you burn sitting still. At Atypical the core of every programme is squat, hinge, push, pull and carry — the movements that build a body that works. Walking and the occasional conditioning session fill in around that.
Nobody in Slough is going to meal-prep six chicken-and-rice boxes every Sunday forever. So we don't ask you to. You get a daily calorie number and a protein target. Within those two numbers, you eat what you like — curry from the Farnham Road, the office birthday cake, a pint after five-a-side. The plan bends so it doesn't break. By the end of twelve weeks most clients don't need to track anything; they've learned what a sensible plate looks like and can manage it themselves.
This is the part no app can replace. Every Monday morning Łukasz looks at your weight, your measurements and your food log from the week before. If it's drifting, you'll hear about it — kindly, but you'll hear about it. If you cancel a session, the next message asks when you're rebooking, not whether. That gentle, consistent pressure is why 92% of clients are still training months later, and why the average result is 14kg down in twelve weeks rather than the 2kg most people manage alone.
Łukasz was the overweight kid who hated PE. He knows what it feels like to walk into a gym and want to walk straight back out, to read fifteen contradictory articles about carbs, to lose motivation on week three. That's why the studio on Whitby Road has no mirrors-and-egos culture and no lecturing. It's a place where a nervous beginner and a 50-year-old returning after knee surgery get the same patient coaching as the lad training for a physique show.
Every option — 1-to-1, the 12-week fat loss block, pairs and small groups, remote coaching and nutrition-only — is priced openly on the pricing page. Sessions run from £25 per person in a group to £50 pay-as-you-go, with the full 12-week programme at £40 a session. No contracts. No sign-up fee. If you decide it's not for you, you stop, and that's the end of it.
Your first session at Atypical Trainer is free and it's a real session — warm-up, some movement screening, a taste of how Łukasz coaches, and a straight answer to every question you've got. No card details. No follow-up pressure. Book it through the contact page, message WhatsApp, or call 07895 239621. If we're a fit, we'll build your plan. If we're not, you'll still leave knowing more than when you arrived.
